Playing the Game: Sporting Life in Jewish Manchester
22 Jun 2012 to 21 Dec 2012
''Jewish people do not play sport' - this exhibition challenges
this common misconception and shows that sport has been an
important part of Manchester Jewish life since the 1890s.
'Playing the Game' celebrates the sporting achievements of Jewish
people and explores the impact of sport on Manchester's Jewish
community. From the table tennis tables of Manchester Jewish Lads
Brigade to the courts of Wimbledon and running tracks of The
Maccabiah Games this exhibition demonstrates the rich and diverse
history of sporting life in Jewish Manchester.
